Forgotten Fundamentals | Why Grounding and Light Matter
Welcome to this special vodacst, where we explore the deeper connections between our environment and our wellbeing. Today, we’re diving into The Forgotten Fundamentals: Why Light and Grounding Matter, with a very special guest — Deanne Hislop.
Deanne is a powerhouse in the field of environmental health. A Certified Building Biologist, Geobiologist, Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and GAPS Certified Practitioner, Deanne brings nearly 30 years of experience to the conversation. Her work is grounded in both science and ancestral wisdom — helping people reconnect with the spaces they live in, and create environments that truly support health on every level: physical, emotional, and energetic.
In this episode, Deanne sheds light — quite literally — on two often-overlooked essentials for health: natural light and grounding. From indoor mould exposure to electromagnetic stress, Deanne’s work is about more than eliminating toxins — it’s about restoring the natural rhythms our bodies are evolutionarily designed for.
This is a conversation that will change how you see your home, your habits, and even your connection to the Earth itself.
Let’s dive in.
About Deanne Hislop
Deanne is a home educating, ancestral mumma, speaker, author and activist with nearly 30 years in environmental health, passionate about helping people connect with the space they live in and create environments that are evolutionarily aligned with the human body where we can find true health.
For the last decade she has worked predominantly under practitioner referrals assessing client’s exposures to mould and biotoxins, bacteria, allergens, chemicals, water contaminants, and nnEMF. Spending time in the homes of those with chronic health conditions has given her a unique perspective on how our homes and the spaces we live in impact our health and the steps we need to take to rectify them.
“The human body takes information from our environment and unfortunately, we have become very disconnected from what our bodies need to feel safe and experience true health. It is my mission to help people get to the root cause of chronic health taking a holistic approach to create environments that support the body, mind and spirit”
