Your Health is An Investment, Not An Expense

Many of us have the best intentions for our health.

Isn't that why we go for an annual check-up? Or for the annual “insert your age here” screening?

Maybe we go once a year, or maybe we start to go when we begin to feel the accumulation of symptoms our body is trying to bring to our attention.

And of course we go for that check up because we're under the impression that the check up will allow us to investigate any dysfunction that's happening in the body and then find out what we can do to correct that dysregulation.

However, and many times that's not actually what happens - at least in the conventional realm.

What often happens is the annual check-up may lead to what appears to be a deeper investigation - blood tests, medical imaging, etc, but then many times, the result of those investigations appears to fall into one of two categories:

1. The sit and wait strategy - although you may receive a diagnosis, little is explained as to its cause or what diet and lifestyle interventions can be done to correct the issue. A watch and wait strategy is recommended.

2. The medication or medical intervention strategy. You may be told this strategy will correct the issue however no information is provided regarding what were the underlying driving mechanisms that created the issue in the first place, so hence, the actual cause of the dysfunction is allowed to continue.

What's wrong with both of these strategies is that neither addresses the underlying driving CAUSES that are leading to the symptoms that you're feeling in your body.

Matter of fact, often both lead to either the exacerbation of your symptoms or a further constellation of health issues long term.

So, rather than sitting, waiting, observing or band-aiding the symptom, how can we be more proactive?

Step 1 - Responsibility

Do you keep records of your lab or medical imaging reports? Have you read the details for yourself and researched the findings? Or have you blindly trusted in the external authority in hopes they have your best intentions in mind? If you haven’t reviewed the history of how the business model of conventional health care was created or education perhaps start here.

Step 2 - Education

Have you researched and tried to educate yourself about your heath? If you’ve found that a frustrating experience it’s because many search engines and websites are geared to turn your attention back towards allopathic medicine. That’s why we have create an archive of free education resources so that you can begin to understand what is happening with your health.

Not finding what you’re looking for? Reach out to our team and we will help point you in the right direction.

Step 3 - Find Aligned Support.

Looking for guidance that not only meets you where you’re at but educates so that you can make empowered decisions on your health?

We have over 300 hundred practitioners who would have walked the journey back to better health themselves and are ready to help (See our practitioner directory here

Check out our Practitioner Jill  Cooper’s guide to the One Off Health Check as an example of how deeply our practitioners investigate to get to the ROOT CAUSE of your health concerns.

Your one off health check covers your digestion, sleep, mindset, exercise, hydration and food choices.

It involves the completion of:

  • A general background questionnaire

  • A 3-4 day food and mood diary

  • An extensive multiple choice nutrition/health based assessment questionnaire (optional)

My analysis of this information determines how I can help your body back to health. We will agree on a way forward that suits you and your body. I will follow up by email providing you with your agreed priorities and other recommendations, resources and recipes applicable to your health journey.

If your car lacked power, or wasn’t running smoothly, you would investigate the cause. However, most of us put up with our body’s lack of energy, or other niggles, making any number of excuses… We book our car in for a regular service to prevent such problems or major breakdowns, but never think to do the same for ourselves! Would you be inconvenienced by not having your car, or you suffering an illness?

As Joyce Sunada says ‘If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness’.

I believe in the power of your wonderful mindset and body to heal itself, one cell at a time, by fuelling your cells with nutrient dense, real foods that feel right for YOUR body

If you would like more information, or are unsure if one off health check is the best way forward for you, please contact me to book a free 20 min phone consultation. I’d love to help you. I passionately care about helping people reach their health goals.
